Having actually lived in a mobile home before, I can tell you that it can get very cramped. Even before you bring in the furniture and start moving your stuff in, it can already feel like a tight fit. The reality is that most mobile homes really are not designed to offer you a roomy feel. It’s like their manufacturers just assume that you are OK with feeling cramped all the time.
But you don’t have to, not if you hire Mint Tiny House Company to build you a customized design! I highly recommend you check out their official Facebook page (check the bottom of the article for a link). They have a lot of beautiful projects on display.
But now, I want to share one of my favorites with you!
Here you see an exterior shot of the 28-foot custom home. Even though it is clearly a mobile home, many design elements mimic a traditional suburban home—with a slightly rustic “out in the country feel.” That bright lime green adds a surprisingly eclectic splash.
Above you can see the other side of the home. As you can see, windows are small, but there are a lot of them.
Below, you can see a shot of the interior. As you can see, most of the furnishings are white to match the walls. This provides the illusion of more space than there really is. There is just enough color to keep things fresh and homey. And don’t you just LOVE those floating stairs? They really do a lot to open the room up.
Here are a few shots of the lovely kitchen:
In the third photo above, you can see how the end of the counter doubles as a desk!
Where do those two sets of floating stairs lead? Here you can see a shot which is taken from the bedroom (which I will show you in a moment). This gives you a great overhead view of the living area below, and also gives you a glimpse of a second living area upstairs.
Here is a closer look at that upstairs living area, which would make a perfect study or playroom:
And here we are walking up the stairs to the bedroom:
An interior shot of the bedroom gives you a better feel for it:
Here is the shower. Interestingly enough, it is located in the laundry room. I love the glass doors. They help to keep a sense of space in the laundry room.
Here is another shot of the laundry room/shower so that you can see what I am talking about:
And finally, here is a look out the door:
Seriously, this is a totally gorgeous mobile home! It looks so spacious compared to most mobile homes I have been in. The contemporary design makes the most of the open vertical space while the minimal colors help to create an illusion of even more room.
