Cape Cod is known for two major icons: their chowder and their architecture. Just take a drive down their scenic coast and you’ll see row after row of majestic homes covered cedar shake shingles with high roofs and classic gray and white color schemes. With such notoriety, it may seem impossible to imagine a Cape Cod home on a small budget but that’s exactly what this next tiny house did! This charming tiny Cape Cod cottage is just 350 square feet but it’s full of luxurious finishes and all the appeal of its bigger cousins!
The home was originally built in the 1940s as a summer cottage but was recently given new life with the help of local homebuilder Cape Associates. The home now has an open and airy feeling with gray and white accents and beautiful hardwood floors. A winding staircase leads upstairs off of the spacious kitchen and the living room has enough space for several pieces of
furniture to spread out on.
The kitchen had to work around the staircase that cuts into the space so instead of making it blend in it was painted a bold mustard yellow to stand out! Small alcoves and cubbies give room for creative storage and the white countertops contrast nicely with the dark gray cabinets.
Despite its smaller size, the kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, cooktop, dishwasher, and even a washer and dryer! To save even more space, the large kitchen island was given built-in storage and doubles as a dining table.
The bathroom features a custom vanity set in the corner with a bowl sink and high-end hardware. You also have a slim toilet and a full-sized shower with a tile surround and glass doors.
Upstairs is a large loft with room for a king-sized bed, nightstands, and a large dresser.
The tiny house even has a small office area located off of the kitchen and living room which could also be used as a sitting room or play room.
We love how much charm the builders were able to squeeze into this tiny Cape Cod cottage. If you’d like to see more of their work, visit their website at http://home.capeassociates.com/ or follow them on social media at:
