This post is the first of a three-part series introducing you to the charming tiny houses at Live a Little Chatt in Chattanooga, Tennessee; the community is at the foot of Lookout Mountain and aims to give visitors a taste of tiny living while visiting the quaint town of Chattanooga. Designed by young entrepreneurs, the tiny community has a laid-back vibe with jaw-dropping views.
First up in the series is the Shangri-Little tiny house which claims to be one of the first tiny houses in the state of Georgia. Now parked in Tennessee, the cozy home was built to simplify the owner’s life and allow him travel. It’s so popular that it was featured on Tiny House Nation! We love the warm exterior of the Shangri-Little with its large porch and roof top
deck. The whole look just invites you in for what promises to be a fun evening.
The home has dusty blue wood siding with corrugated metal accents and plenty of windows to flood the home with natural light. The slanted roofline gives extra height inside the home and you also have small storage closets attached to the exterior of the home.
The home is entered through large sliding glass doors which give you a great view of the community from your couch inside.
Inside, the home is wrapped in rustic wood from the floors to the ceiling with woven rugs to add warmth and color. A dining table is attached to the wall with stools that slide underneath for easy storage. Across from the table is a large staircase leading up to an oversized loft.
The kitchen is in the middle of the home and has handsome custom cabinets with a gas cooktop and compact refrigerator. Wine storage was hung on the wall in place of upper cabinets and a small couch is across from the kitchen underneath the stairs.
Something else that’s not necessarily usual for tiny houses is the full-sized humidor across from the kitchen to hold the owner’s impressive cigar collection.
All of the homes at Live a Little Chatt have flushable toilets for ease of use. The Shangri-Little also has a wall-mounted sink with cigar boxes on the wall for creative storage.
Across from the toilet is a full-sized shower wrapped in wood tile.
The loft is upstairs and it has room for a full-sized bed and a small side table. Also in the room is a hobbit door leading out to the roof deck.
We think this tiny house would be perfect for a romantic getaway! If you’re interested in booking a stay, go to https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15125732.
