A woman was wanting to start life over after a tumultuous season and decided that tiny living was the path for her. The only constraint was her budget which was only $28,000 so she contacted architect Henry Yorke Mann for help and together they designed this unique 300 square foot cross-shaped tiny house.
The home was shaped like a cross to create distinct areas in the home’s open layout all centered around the core of the home with a sleeping loft above.
A seating area is off to one side of the home and features a unique wicker couch and built-in bookshelves. The entire home is wrapped in pine siding with rustic hardwood floors connecting all sides of the cross floorplan.
One alcove of the home was used for the bathroom which has a long soaking tub and a pedestal sink with a flushable toilet.
The other alcove holds the fully-equipped kitchen with full-sized appliances and large countertops. You can also see from this angle all of the built-in storage all over the home and just how high the soaring ceilings are.
The loft is reached by a detachable ladder and gives the owner a cozy place to rest her head without feeling cramped.
We’ve never seen a floorplan quite like this one before!
